Marathi families often prefer a biodata in Marathi, with familiar headings and Devanagari digits. Here is the usual order and what each heading means.
Common headings
| Marathi | Meaning |
|---|---|
| नाव | Name |
| जन्म तारीख, वेळ, स्थळ | Date, time and place of birth |
| उंची | Height |
| शिक्षण | Education |
| व्यवसाय / नोकरी | Occupation |
| रास, नक्षत्र, चरण | Moon sign, nakshatra, charan |
| मंगळ | Manglik status |
| गोत्र | Gotra |
| देवक | Devak (family emblem used in rituals) |
| वडिलांचे नाव, आईचे नाव | Father's and mother's names |
| भावंडे | Siblings |
| मामा | Maternal uncle (often listed) |
| मूळ गाव | Native place |
| अपेक्षा | Expectations |
You can add any heading that matters to your family, such as देवक or कुलदैवत, as a custom field.
Blessing at the top
Many Marathi biodatas start with "॥ श्री गणेशाय नमः ॥". Some families use their kuldaivat's name instead.
Digits: Marathi or English?
Both are common. Marathi digits (१, २, ३) feel traditional; English digits are easier for some readers. Pick one and use it throughout.
Design
A Paithani-inspired border in peacock green and magenta suits many Marathi families. A simpler classic design works just as well.
