Make it with her, not just for her
The best biodatas for girls are made together with the girl. She is the one who will meet families, so the biodata should sound like her. Ask her what she wants to say about her work, her interests and the life she hopes for, and let her write the "about me" lines herself if she likes.
What to include in a girl's biodata
- Full name, date, time and place of birth, and height
- Highest education and where it is from
- Current work, the kind of company and the city
- Diet, religion, and community only if your family wishes
- Parents, brothers and sisters, family type and native place
- Two or three lines about her, ideally in her own words
- The kind of partner and family she hopes for

Describing her well
Write about what she does and values, not adjectives. "She leads a team of five at a design studio and volunteers with a reading programme on Sundays" tells a family far more than "She is beautiful, homely and well-mannered." Leave out complexion and weight entirely.
If she plans to keep working after marriage, or would like to stay in a particular city, say so plainly in the partner section. It is kinder to everyone than discovering it at the third meeting.
An "about me" for a girl, in her own words
"I lead a small design team and love solving everyday problems. Outside work I learn Bharatanatyam, read and spend Sundays with my grandparents. I'm close to my family and looking for someone who is kind, curious and shares responsibilities at home."
Notice what it does: one line about work, one about life outside work, one about what matters to her. That is all a family needs to want to talk.
Keep her privacy safe
A biodata often travels much further than you expect: from one relative to another, across WhatsApp groups.
- Share a parent's phone number first, not hers.
- Share the home address only after you have spoken to a family.
- Send it as a PDF or image rather than a screenshot, so it can't be edited.
- With a private live link you can hide the phone number and address and still update the biodata later.

If your family uses kundli matching, add her rashi, nakshatra and manglik status, or simply the exact time and place of birth so they can be calculated. If the birth time is not known, say so honestly.
