The Christian biodata format
A Christian marriage biodata looks much like any other: personal details, education and work, family, about me and contact. Families pay special attention to three things: denomination, parish and faith life.
Opening line
A small cross at the top, "Praise the Lord", or a short verse ("Two are better than one", Ecclesiastes 4:9) is common. You can also start with the name alone.
Denomination and parish
Write the denomination precisely, for example Roman Catholic (Latin rite), Syro-Malabar Catholic, Marthoma Syrian, CSI, Jacobite Syrian Orthodox, Pentecostal or Baptist. Then the home parish or church the family belongs to. Families use it to understand practice, and the wedding itself usually happens in one of the two parishes.
Baptism and confirmation
Catholic families in particular write "baptised and confirmed". It is a small detail, but the parish will ask for the certificates before banns are published, and families like to know early.
Faith life
One line describing how faith fits into life is often the most read part of the biodata: "active in the youth ministry", "sings in the church choir", "attends Sunday Mass with family".
Family
Parents' names and work, brothers and sisters, family type and native place. Kerala Christian families often also write the family name or house name. Goan, Mangalorean and North-East families often mention the village parish.
Partner expectations
Keep them about faith and values: "God-fearing, from a practising Catholic family, educated, supportive of her career". If inter-denominational marriage is acceptable to the family, saying so ("open to other denominations") widens the circle of good matches.
