What Malayali families look for
Birth star and jathakam
Kerala families match horoscopes beginning with the നക്ഷത്രം (birth star). Then they look at the full ജാതകം: whether it is ശുദ്ധ ജാതകം (no dosham) or has chovva or papa dosham, which is usually matched with a similar dosham (papasamyam). Write both clearly.
House name and native place
Many Kerala families are known by their വീട്ടുപേര് (house name) and native place. Writing them helps families place each other, especially within the same community.
Work in the Gulf and abroad
Many Malayali families have members working in the Gulf, Europe or North America. If the person works abroad, write the country, city and visa status, and whether the couple would live there.
