What a simple biodata keeps
A simple biodata keeps only what a family needs to decide whether to call:
- Name, date and place of birth, height
- Education (highest degree) and work (role, kind of company, city)
- Religion and diet
- Family: parents' names and work, brothers and sisters, native place
- About me: one or two sentences
- Expectations: one sentence
- Contact: one name and number
What a simple biodata leaves out
- A blessing or religious opening line
- Horoscope details, unless the other family will match kundlis
- Hobbies lists, relatives, family values and other optional fields
- Anything that needs more than one line
Why simple works
Families often read several biodatas in one evening, on a phone. A simple biodata is read to the end. It also suits families who prefer to share personal details only after the first conversation.
Writing short lines well
Short doesn't mean cold. Compare:
- "Architect. Hobbies: running, reading, travelling, cooking, music."
- "I design public spaces, run on weekends and love long lunches with family."
The second is just as short, and says far more about the person.
When to add more
Add horoscope details if the other family will match kundlis, the family deity or gotra if your community expects them, and a second photo if a family asks. Everything else can wait for the first conversation.
